Volleyball Team has Busy Start to the Season; Play this Thursday and Saturday
The Cumberland Volleyball Team was busy at all levels last week, with the Varsity traveling to Onalaska for their yearly Tournament and the JV participating in a Quad at Eau Claire Memorial on Thursday. This week, the Varsity will play twice, first traveling to a Quad in Elk Mound on Thursday and Saturday, traveling to Chetek for their yearly Invitational starting at 9:00 am.
In Onakaska, Cumberland played three teams from Southern Wisconsin, getting a look at an inexperienced team that only returns four varsity players. “It was a was a great opportunity to get lots of games in and try a variety of lineups,” said Head Coach Erin Miller.
Among the players showing well were Raegan Beecroft, who led the team with 35 kills, Sara Roff, who had a team-high 46 digs, and Alexis Peterson, who led Cumberland with six service aces. Peterson added 14 kills, Natalie Anderson 22 digs, and Hailey Paulson and Kaylee Jackson four service aces each.
