8th Grade Individual Planning Conferences
Individual Planning Conferences are a key component of the Cumberland Middle School Counseling Program. Planning conferences will take place for all 8th graders in the spring semester of the school year. These conferences will include students, parents/guardians, and the school counselor.
The 8th Grade Individual Planning Conference focuses on progress toward student’s personal/social growth, academic/career development and looking ahead to their future as they transition to high school and eventually into a career. Emphasis is placed on a review of assessments, abilities, interests, goals, study skills, academics, Career Portfolio, and the high school registration process.
Individual Planning Conferences typically are 30 minutes and are scheduled during the school day from 7:45 am to 4:00 pm. Letters will be sent in February notifying 8th-grade families to schedule an appointment.
