🌳🌿 Our 5th graders ventured out on a field trip to Hunt Hill to learn about the ecosystem! The students participated in four rotations while they were there including: 🌱 Learning about safe plants to eat in the wild 🦎 Catch and identify salamanders in the woods 🦉 Dissect owl pellets and identified the bones they found 💦 Explored the bog! These #CSDGoBeavers students had so much fun learning about nature through all the hands-on activities!

⛳️ Big congratulations to the Marathon Boys Golf Team on a stellar performance at Regionals in Luck! The team finished 4th overall, earning a spot at Sectionals and a shot at heading to State for the first time in over 20 years! 🔥 👏 Special shoutout to Derrick Gideo, who led the way with an incredible 71, taking top honors individually! Best of luck next Tuesday, #CSDGoBeavers golfers, at Turtleback in Rice Lake! We’re cheering you on all the way! 🍀

🍦The sweetest tradition in track! Our #CSDGoBeavers middle school track team enjoyed their annual DQ run, earning those treats after all their hard work! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ A big thank you to Mark Mauer for continuing to sponsor this fun event and treating the team to ice cream. What a cool way to celebrate the season! 🎉👏

📢 Thank you to the Wisconsin Northwest Heritage Passage (WNHP) for awarding the Cumberland Middle School Art Program a $500 grant to be used on printmaking supplies for the classroom! WNHP is a wonderful supporter of the arts in the community including and showcasing local art at the Arts in Hand Gallery. 🎨🖌️ #CSDGoBeavers

🚨 School Record Alert!! 🚨 🎉 Congrats to Jack Owens, our new school record holder in the pole vault! Jack cleared a height of 12’ 6” at the meet in Barron! The previous record of 12’ 3” was held by Scott Hanson from 1993! Congrats Jack! 👏 #CSDGoBeavers

🥚🪂 Our brilliant 5th graders put their engineering skills to the test with the Great Egg Drop Challenge! Tasked with designing parachutes that could protect a plastic egg from a high drop, these young scientists applied teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity to build devices that floated safely to the ground—without a single crack! 💡 From tissue paper, to string and tape, their designs were as unique as their ideas. Science, gravity, and a little trial-and-error made for an unforgettable hands-on learning experience! 📸 Check out some memorable designs! #CSDGoBeavers

📚📖 Our #CSDGoBeavers 5th graders wrapped up their fractured fairy tales and took a special trip to the elementary school to share their creative stories with the 3rd and 4th graders! They were so proud to read their imaginative twists on classic tales and the younger students loved every minute! 😊

🃏🎲 Chris Knutson brought in some expert cribbage players to play against our #CSDGoBeavers students! Cribbage is great way to practice and master math skills, learn a life long game, and is sooooo much fun! THANK YOU volunteers! ❤️

📚⚔️ Let the battles begin! Our amazing 3rd and 4th graders are gearing up for this year’s Battle of the Books competition! They'll start their "battles" next week. 🤖 Leveling up with robotics! Mrs. Zip recently wrote and received a Donors Choose grant titled "Leveling Up with Robotics," which focuses on providing even more opportunities for her STEM classes. Thanks to this grant, students are now exploring hands-on learning with awesome new robotic kits, including a hydrobot, a mechanical bot, and a solarbot. Check out these future engineers hard at work assembling and testing out their creations! 🔧🔋 #CSDGoBeavers
