📚🐛 Third graders recently read the book "Beetles, Lightly Toasted" by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, the story of a fifth grader who enters a conservation-themed writing contest with a very unusual idea, using beetles, grubs, and worms as food substitutes!
After finishing the novel, students put their creativity to work by developing their own “bug-inspired” recipes and sharing snacks featuring flies, cockroaches, ants, grubs, worms, bear meat, and butterflies. 🦋
Don’t worry, no bugs were harmed in the making of these recipes! Students cleverly used chocolate chips, gummy worms, pickles, granola, and salami sticks to bring their imaginative creations to life. What a fun and creative way to connect literature and hands-on learning! 🌟

🌱🌿 Growing Success in Agriculture Class! 🌿🌱
Our agriculture students started planning for spring all the way back in January by planting seeds, and now they’re seeing their hard work come to life! The greenhouse is filling up with the fruits of their efforts, and it’s exciting to watch everything grow. 🌺
Students are especially looking forward to continuing to care for their plants at home this summer as part of their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs.
Great work to our #CSDGoBeavers students for their dedication, patience, and passion for agriculture! 🌞

🧁🐾 Sweet treats for a great cause!
Cumberland High School junior Alicia Jungbluth turned her compassion into action by organizing a bake sale to support local animals. From planning the menu to baking and selling during study hall, Alicia led the entire effort with dedication and heart.
Thanks to her hard work, and support from the community, she raised an incredible $800 for the Barron County Humane Society! ❤️
Way to go, Alicia, for proving that a little kindness (and a lot of baking!) can make a big difference! 👏

🌉📐 Building knowledge, one bridge at a time!
As they wrapped up the third quarter in PreCalculus, our #CSDGoBeavers students completed their bridge building project! This hands-on experience focused on key mathematical concepts like forces, magnitude, and the direction of resultant vectors. Using their trigonometric knowledge and plenty of creativity, students designed and built bridges out of toothpicks and glue, proving that simple materials can overcome big challenges.
This year’s winning team achieved an incredible strength-to-weight ratio of 578.2 times its weight! 🎉
Congratulations to Andrew Carlson, Cash Daniels, Makenzie Danica, and Miranda Shock! 👏

🥁🎺 Even with snow still on the ground, our High School Marching Band is already gearing up for the 2026 season!
The colorguard began rehearsals a couple weeks ago, and last week the drumline started practicing as well. It’s an early start for a busy and exciting year ahead.
The band will have a full June parade season before beginning preparations in July for the fall field show competition season. We can’t wait to see and hear all their hard work come together! 🎶
