🫀🧠 8th graders have been hard at work learning about the human body in Health class!

Each student group was assigned a body system to research and present to the class. As part of their presentations, students also designed and created anatomically correct t-shirts to showcase their body systems in a fun and creative way.

What an awesome hands-on learning experience that combined research, teamwork, creativity, and presentation skills! Great job, #CSDGoBeavers students! 👏

📚🐛 Third graders recently read the book "Beetles, Lightly Toasted" by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, the story of a fifth grader who enters a conservation-themed writing contest with a very unusual idea, using beetles, grubs, and worms as food substitutes!

After finishing the novel, students put their creativity to work by developing their own “bug-inspired” recipes and sharing snacks featuring flies, cockroaches, ants, grubs, worms, bear meat, and butterflies. 🦋

Don’t worry, no bugs were harmed in the making of these recipes! Students cleverly used chocolate chips, gummy worms, pickles, granola, and salami sticks to bring their imaginative creations to life. What a fun and creative way to connect literature and hands-on learning! 🌟

🌟 Two Cumberland High School students accepted to WSMA State Honors Project!

Cash Daniels and Willow Franc, two juniors who attend Cumberland High School, have been selected to participate in the Wisconsin School Music Association’s (WSMA) state honors project for 2026. Cash will be playing drum set in the Jazz Ensemble while Willow will be singing in the Treble Choir.

The WSMA High School State Honors Music Project is designed to provide musically accomplished students with the opportunity to rehearse and perform with some of the nation’s finest conductors in a professional and highly disciplined setting.

More than 1,300 students in grades 9, 10 and 11 auditioned for 430 positions in the WSMA High School State Honors Music Project ensembles. The auditions were held in seven sites across the state this past February.

Students selected to participate in the WSMA High School State Honors Music Project will meet for the first time during summer camp at UW-Eau Claire in June. All Honors students reconvene in Madison in late October to perform in conjunction with the annual Wisconsin State Music Conference. The Honors concerts celebrate the remarkable achievements of our musical youth and are open to the public! 🎶
