Makenzie Tahtinen Finishes Season at Golf Sectionals

Cumberland senior Makenzie Tahtinen finished her 2026 season with a strong showing at the WIAA Sectional Golf Meet in Luck last week. Tahtinen’s 97 left her in 19th place, short of the 89 needed to advance to the State Meet. Her sectional appearance added to her HON All-Conference selection as she concluded her career.

Sophomore Clara Kongshaug of Colfax/Elk Mound was the medalist with an excellent 75, as her squad and St. Croix Central qualified for the State team competition.

Coach Jessica Olson was happy for Tahtinen. “Makenzie put in a lot of work and was a solid player all year. We are happy for her accomplishments and will miss her next year, and we wish her the best moving forward.”
